VRB Presents Update Vanadium Flow Battery Technology
Stressing Carbon Emission Reduction

On April 15, 2021, VRB Energy CEO, Dr. Mianyan Huang, made a presentation at the 10th Energy Storage International Conference and Expo.  Dr. Huang is recognized by the China Ministry of Science and Technology as the nation’s leading flow battery expert.  He is a recognized national spokesperson for the technology, as China has chartered a course for a series of 100 MW class vanadium flow battery projects in support of grid optimization and renewable integration emphasizing carbon emission reduction.

Entitled “High Efficiency and Large Scale VRB-ESS® Supports Carbon Neutralization” the presentation provided an overview of vanadium flow battery use in China and elsewhere as well as advances in VRB’s technology with its new Gen III systems.  The reduction of carbon emissions by the use of Vanadium Redox Batteries is a key takeaway from the information provided.

Dr. Huang highlighted the fact that there are now more than 100 vanadium flow batteries
deployed globally, in 29 countries, producing 39,664 kW of power and 209,800 kWh of energy.  He clearly details the advantages of Vanadium Redox Batteries over Lithium Batteries for very large systems and explains the recent upgrades from the Gen II units to the Gen III units which VRB is about to bring to market.

As a shareholder of VRB Energy, Sparton Resources Inc. (SRI-V) thanks Dr. Huang and his team for these recent important developments in battery technology.  For anyone interested in the details, we invite you read the attached presentation.
