SPARTON APPOINTS CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

   

 

Sparton Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SRI) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jocelyn Cote as Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Cote brings over 20 years of academic and industry experience in the financial sector to the Sparton team. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in finance, from the University of Sherbrooke and a Canadian Securities Certificate.

From 1989 until 2000 he held senior positions with Credit Lyonnais, domestically, in Europe and in the United States, including the post of Vice- President Corporate Banking. More recently he held the position of Vice-President Finance and Administration for Aecon Group Ltd. a major civilian contracting organization involved in many major construction projects in various parts of Canada and elsewhere.

Mr. Cote is past President and Director of Melkior Resources Inc., a Canadian junior exploration company. He is currently president of Capital Production Inc. a management consulting company specializing in institutional debt and equity financing, and financial control management.

Fluent in both of Canada's official languages, he brings an excellent balance of financial experience and strategic financial planning and management skills to Sparton's management group.

Mr. Cote has been granted 200,000 incentive options to purchase Sparton Common Shares at a price of $0.44 expiring on July 25, 2012. .
